7 tips to prevent the Flu

2019-20 winter seasons are upon us! You know who loves a cold and dry season – Influenza!

In fact, Influenza is an Italian word and is derived from “influenza di freddo”, which means “influence of the cold.”

Influenza virus is more likely to be transmitted during winter on the way to the subway than in a warm room,

Fortunately there are some things that you can do to prevent the flu. Here are some tips:

TIP 1:  According to Canada Health, the best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated. The vaccine, also known as a flu shot, protects you in case of virus exposure and prevents you from falling sick. Canada Health recommends that everyone 6 months or older should get a flu shot.

TIP 2:   Wash your hands frequently and with soap. This will help you protect from germs.

TIP 3:  Avoid coughing into your hands and instead use a tissue or the bend of your arm.

TIP 4:  Avoid directly touching surfaces that come into contact with a lot of people e.g. doorknobs, keyboards etc.

TIP 5:  Stay active and eat healthy.

TIP 6:  Get plenty of rest.

TIP 7:  And finally, if you get stick avoid travel and try to stay home.
